02 Equipment & rings

Pyromancy Flame +10

Upgrade the flame alongside your weapon. Its spell damage benefits from both Intelligence and Faith.

Chaos or Dark Long Sword +10

Meets this spread’s 10 STR / 10 DEX requirement. Use the elemental infusion matching the encounter; these infusions cannot take resins or weapon buffs.

Light armor

Vitality is intentionally low. Stay below 70% load, and carry only the equipment you actually use.

Ring loadout

SLOT 01

Great Swamp Ring

Improves pyromancy damage.

SLOT 02

Witch’s Ring

A larger pyromancy damage boost once acquired.

SLOT 03

Sage Ring

Helps casting speed without a large Dexterity investment.

SLOT 04

Ring of Favor

Supports health, stamina and equipment load.

Spell loadout

Great Chaos Fire Orb

A two-slot fire spell with a lingering lava patch; best after a boss commits to recovery.

Black Fire Orb

One-slot dark damage for targets that resist fire.

Black Flame

A one-slot close-range burst. Do not treat its short reach as a safe ranged option.

03 From first flame to endgame

  1. 01

    EARLY · UNDEAD SETTLEMENT

Rescue Cornyx and upgrade the starting flame. Build health and keep a physical or Raw weapon while Intelligence and Faith are still low.

  2. 02

    MID · CATACOMBS

Explore Smouldering Lake for pyromancy resources. Raise Intelligence and Faith together, and increase Attunement as you actually acquire useful spells.

  3. 03

    LATE · IRITHYLL DUNGEON

Rescue Karla to open dark pyromancy options. With 24 Attunement you have four spell slots for the listed loadout. Aim for 40/40 casting stats and adjust Estus allocation at Andre.

04 In the field

  • Cast after an enemy misses or finishes a combo. Distance alone does not guarantee safety.
  • Switch to dark damage when fire performs poorly; keep a physical fallback for enemies resistant to both.
  • Use the Long Sword for weak enemies to save FP for dangerous encounters.
  • Start with more regular Estus than Ashen Estus, then rebalance as your casting habits settle.

STRENGTHS

  • Fire and dark damage options
  • Useful ranged punish windows
  • Reliable melee backup

TRADE-OFFS

  • FP and Estus management
  • Long cast commitments
  • Lower stamina and armor capacity
